So if you hadn't heard we had a bit of snow here on Long Island, especially on the east end. Almost 30 inches fell late Friday night into Saturday morning. I was more excited than anything else. Snow, exactly what I'd been longing for, and I had both Friday and Saturday off, and a brand new Jeep Wrangler in the driveway. Perfect you would think, correct? Well, we were having a grand time, we played in the yard, then walked up to town with everything glistening. I haven't seen this much snow in a really long time.It reminded me of the snow storms of my youth. Did it really snow that much more back then? Or was it because I was small and the excitement of sleigh riding with my Dad, and skating on Mill Pond, made the event that much more prominent? Who knows! We waited for the plows to come, and waited, and waited, and baked cookies, and waited. But the plows never came. Then I started to freak out. I had to get to work on Sunday, and there were 3 foot drifts the length of the street. We went to bed, sure the plows would come overnight, but when we woke up, the streets were still not touched. Finally around 3p,when we had totally given up, my husband and two neighbors, also stuck with big trucks in their driveway, decided to shovel the street. By 6p, a path was cleared, finally, and with no thanks to the Town of Brookhaven. Just wait until election time. It wasn't a total loss, the dog loved the time in the snow, and so did I (the cat even tried to escape, but once outside the door quickly changed his mind and retreated back to the bed). And now, I'm ready for Spring...

Your dog cracks me up!! So cute!!
Love the pics! We have a chance for "flurries" this weekend sometime, but doubt if it will happen. I think the weathermen just like to keep things stirred up around here!
