So here we are. 2013. And so far, so good. I was so excited to get rid of 2012 that I started to get a little frightened. What if 2013 turns out WORSE than 2012? And then, I gave that some thought and realized that the answer to that question is totally in my hands. 2013 will be exactly what I choose to do with it. And with that thought in my head, and keeping with my Winter Solstice resolution to "simplify", we set out last night for a simple dinner at a local favorite. We shared pickle chips and a burger and drank Double IPA's out of fancy beer glasses. Totally full we waddled down the street to the new music venue in town, paid our $10 and saw 3 really awesome bands, drank great local beer and kissed in the New Year. And as we walked home, in the brisk winter air, eating piping hot slices of NY pizza, I thought to myself, "not a bad start at all". Aside from the burger, pickles and local beer, everything we did was last night was a new experience. I was tooling around Pinterest yesterday and stumbled onto this:
Well, that just about sums it up, exactly what this next year is going to be about. Trying new things, learning new things and most importantly sticking with it. If you look back on New Years gone by I'm sure I've started a 365 Project for most. Started, but never, not once, finished. Last years Everyday Project was just about the closest I've come, and that only went on for a few months. And the funny thing is, I don't know why I lose interest. Some of those shots are my fav's for the year.
This year I've joined two photo challenges. Yes, joined. The reasoning behind the actual sign up with daily prompts sent to me and an on line gallery is sort of to light a fire under my ass to actually do it. I'll be responsible (sort of) for having to produce, and with other people in the group I'll be motivated to do my best. At least that's what I'm telling myself. So if anyone would like to join me, please, come on! the first is a 52 Week project and our first word is Celebration. The other project is, yes, another 365 Project I know, I know, but my hopes are if I Tweet about it, and Instagram it, and Post here about it, others will join and doing it with people that I interact with daily, will keep me motivated.
So here are a few shots from today. Cheers, because they are just the beginning.

You are an inspiration to me! I'm SO glad you are back in the game!! I've missed your wonderful photos and journaling! Can't wait to see what's coming!
