It's 10:30ish on a Thursday night, there's a decent amount of snow and ice outside. Last night dumped another 12 inches on top of the 17 inches that still hasn't melted from last week, which sits on top of the 15 inches we got the week of Christmas into New Years, so, yea, there's quite a bit of snow out there. I don't mind, i actually like it, it's nice to wake up in the morning and look out the window and watch the Cardinal eating out of the feeder. The harsh difference between the red bird against the white snow is a party for my eyes. The problem is, i feel as if I haven't shot a decent photo since...well, since I can't remember when. I desperately roam around the house, looking for things to jump out at me, but these days there's nothing there. The boredom factor coupled with the fact that I simply don't have enough time has really left me in an angry place (i know, i know, one of the things I vowed to get rid of in 2011 was negativity). This morning, as I drank my coffee, waiting for my husband to dig out the Jeep, I casually took the camera out to the yard. No pressure, I just wanted to see what I could capture.
OK, so maybe tomorrow I'll venture further into the yard and find more treasures. Oh, and on a brighter note, remember the 11 things I can do without in 2011? Well im happy to report it's going quite well. I haven't had red meat, sugar, processed foods of any kind, alcohol ( ok, that's a lie, but it was only a few glasses of wine, 2 to be exact) or white bread since January 10th. I have organized the books in my office, getting rid of TONS of magazines and books that were not only useless to me, but useless to everyone (come on, Photoshop 7? Quark? Does ANYONE use Quark anymore?). Tomorrow's agenda? Cleaning out the closet and getting rid of some fine wool ( i will purge, I promise), attempting to see what is at the bottom of the hall closet, and hopefully a coffee date with two of my favorite people. And then some internet surfing for a photo challenge to keep my mind active until the big thaw. Does anyone have any suggestions??
