I've decided that in order for me to succeed in the 365 project i needed to do a few things that i really haven't been doing lately. The first is to start lugging my camera around with me ever where i go. This used to just be habit for me. I do admit that back in the day, it used to embarrass me a little. My husband and i would go out to dinner and there on the table sat my camera. From time to time people would asked, "what are you shooting"? When i answered, "everything", they would look at me weird with little to say. I quickly got over that when i was the one getting the perfect shot, when everyone else was trying to capture the same thing with their cell phones. The other thing is to swap out lenses every few days. I now own a lot of great lenses, but since i got the last one for my birthday it's remained on my camera, and probably would have remained on my camera, until May. I have also vowed to make Wednesday and Sunday collage days. Although i need to post one photo a day to the 365 project, I am not one to shoot one photo, more like 40, with one good one to show. Or maybe 5 really good ones, which leaves me struggling to pick just one, so this will lessen my stress level. Ok, so hopefully I can stick with all that. Next up is just a cool sight that i was led to through a random email from my Mother. From time to time my Mom will send me a email telling me about tag sales, or better yet, estate sales out on the east end of Long Island. Being my mother's daughter I love all things pre-owned ,farm or cottage style, and pieces of furniture with as much peeling paint as possible, and especially things other people throw to the curb. Although i always read the emails, i've never really gone to one, for one reason or another. And i don't know why, especially when my mom has found such deals like this sweet gift she gave me right before Thanksgiving, making me smile from ear to ear
Yesterday, she sent me this:
after getting a really good laugh about the last two sections, i decided to click on the links that were in the email and was so surprised to find two really great sights, that are actually right here in my own neck of the woods. I thought i'd pass them along to you now as i run out to buy the latest edition of country living magazine. Thanks Mom.
