On Sunday morning at 9am, Dakota arrived for a week long stay while her family goes to Florida. You may remember me singing her praises
a few months ago when she came to stay as an over night guest as a trial for this very vacation. She is the sweetest
Rhodesian Ridge back you ever wanted to meet. A pampered little lady that has her breakfast and dinner cooked for her ( a combination of ground beef, pumpkin puree, mixed veggies and salmon oil with a side of 1% milk). And truth be told, I don't cook for my husband on a regular basis, but for her, I don't mind. At this point she and Seamus are old friends, and since being here, she has come to terms with our cat, Mac, something I know her family was concerned about. I even caught a glimpse of them lounging together on the couch yesterday. It's always such a good feeling having her here, you see, this has always been a two dog house (honestly, if Coach would allow it I'd probably have 4, but we'll save that story for another day...) and since
Guinness and
Marley have passed it's felt a little empty . Now i know all you non dog lovers are rolling your eyes, some may even have already clicked to another blog, but if you have a dog, you know how good they make you feel, in the heart area. So I welcome Dakota with open arms, any time she needs to come. And of course, with Dakota always comes
Crumbs Cupcakes
this batch devoured in only a few short hours, thank goodness they were around long enough to be photographed.

and don't you know when dogs visit my house it brings dog lovers of all shapes and sizes visiting.

and that is always a good thing!
She looks so comfortable at your place! And love that photo of her covering her eyes in the mosaic, too cute! And yes, I totally agree that these guys make you feel good "in the heart area" ;) Hope you enjoyed your July 4th! P.S. No early arrival for us yet :P
