I started to feel really guilty again yesterday about not posting since last week, until I cruised over to some of my favorite blogs, only to find that only one person, Alicia, had actually posted something new! I breathed a sigh of relief and went on my busy way. Today the lacrosse game was held on our temporary home field, on the campus of St. Johns University who have been kind enough to let us use their grounds while Dowling College builds their own Athletic Facilities. Walking around the grounds I was amazed at what a beautiful place it must have been in it's hayday. The estate was once the summer home to either the Vanderbilts or the Fortunoffs and although it has been left in ruins the buildings and property are amazing, especially on a gorgeous day like yesterday.
and then there was the other kind of "old". After the Dowling team (pardon my French) kicked the shit out of Adelphi, the Alumni played a game, with my husband playing goalie. Luckily for me I had a quarterly meeting at Apple to go to. And just to keep up with the theme of the day, (and not knowing it at the time) I made a quick stop at Country Junk to see what they had gotten in. I was surprised to find a few Amish tin stars that I plan on asking Timmy if I can buy before they are gone.
